What discoveries were made during the search for a path to India?

We are talking about the 15th century. Let the Portuguese be the first to search for the sea in India, so first they discovered the island of Madeira, then the Cape Verde Islands, then the western coast of Africa, that is, the Gulf of Guinea, Malabo Island, the mouth of the Congo River, the Namib Desert on the Atlantic coast, the southernmost point of Africa (Cape Needle), and also the Seychelles. They sailed to India by the end of the 15th century.

The British were looking for a northern route to India and in 1497 John Cabot sailed to the shores of modern Canada (Newfoundland), and the Spaniards in October 1492 discovered America, or rather its insular part – the Bahamas.
