During the Russian-Turkish war, the Russian Empire managed to achieve success and victory in the war. In this connection, a peace treaty was signed in Bucharest. Under the terms of this agreement, the following territories were transferred to Russia: the Prut-Dniester interfluve, part of the Moldavian principality. In addition, the Turks recognized the conquests in the Transcaucasus, but at the same time Turkey received the Anapa fortress.
