What do you see as the reasons for the military successes of the Greeks?

The Greeks created an extremely high-quality tactical formation – the phalanx. The Phalanx was a group of armed spearmen. They were built in several rows. After that, all put forward large spears. Those in the second or third row had larger and longer spears. They were placed on the shoulders of those in front. Thanks to this, the phalanx bristled with a huge number of spears, which made it almost impossible to approach. Despite the slowness and the need for training, the phalanx has long been the most advanced strategy.
