What do you see as the reasons for the Northern War?

The Great Northern War broke out in Europe from 1700 to 1721. In my opinion, the main reason for this conflict was the desire to weaken the influence of Sweden, which at that time had the most powerful European army and political weight in Western Europe. When the young Charles the Twelfth came to the throne, his opponents had such an opportunity. So the states of the Northern Union sought to realize their ambitions at the expense of the decline of Sweden. Denmark wanted domination in the Baltic Sea, Saxony – the annexation of Livonia, and the Russian kingdom – access to the Baltic, Ingria and Karelia.
