What do you think, is it possible to speak about the physical properties of a chemical element, and about the physical properties of a simple substance?

A chemical element and a simple substance are different concepts in chemistry. All that we see is simple or complex substances. They have physical properties (hardness, shape, boiling point, etc.). We do not see the chemical element. This is a conventional concept in chemistry denoting a set of atoms with the same nuclear charge and the same number of protons in the nucleus and electrons revolving around the nucleus.

A simple substance consists of atoms of one chemical element, a peculiar form of the existence of chemical elements. Complex compounds contain several chemical elements, but it has the properties of a substance as a whole, and not of each element separately.
