What do you think prevents people from always acting in accordance with the golden rule of morality?

It seems to me that at all times there were people who did not observe the golden rule of morality, but now there are more and more of them. But most of these people cannot be blamed for this, because in our time almost everything is done for the sake of profit, for the sake of money and personal improvement, and since this comes from the “top” of our country, you have to deviate from the golden rule of morality only in order to give the necessary minimum to your family.
