What does modern biology study?

In a broad sense, biology is the science of life (from the Greek bios – life and logos – science). Modern biology includes many other sciences. It is also closely related to such sciences as medicine, chemistry, physics. Modern biological sciences include microbiology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, bionics (at the intersection of biology and technology), biophysics. With the advent of new technologies, it became possible to study the smallest parts of a living organism. This is what molecular biology does.
