What does the plant get from the soil as a result of root nutrition? Do you water the plant with cold water? Why? Does the plant have a root modification, such as a root vegetable? What is the significance of this modification for the plant? How does a person use root vegetables? Can a person influence the formation of the root system? If so, how and why?

Plants receive water from the soil with dissolved nutrients (minerals).

I only water the plants with warm water, as they cannot absorb cold water.

Plants have root modifications:

1. root crops (carrots, beets), root tubers (dahlia) – are used to accumulate nutrients;

2. Respiratory roots (willow brittle, mango plant) are used to obtain oxygen in places where the roots are flooded with water.

3. Hitch roots (ivy) are used to attach to various surfaces;

4. Aerial roots (orchid) absorb water from the air, can grow in the ground;

5. Supporting roots (banyan tree) hold heavy branches.

Man uses root vegetables for food.

A person can influence the development of the root system, for example, pinch the main root of a young plant. This method will lead to overgrowth of lateral roots. Such a plant will receive more nutrients, which means it will give more yield.
