What does the rudimentary shoot develop from?

A bud is a rudimentary shoot. Buds appear either at the end of the shoot, can appear on the adult organs of the plant, or can form in the leaf axils. When closed, the buds (embryonic shoots) are protected from unfavorable conditions by the scales of the modified leaves. The scales of some plants (for example, poplar) are coated with resin for additional protection of the shoot. Some plants have bare buds, i.e. there are no scales on them.
