What does the word “error” mean? What is the error of the device?

No physical quantity can be measured absolutely accurately for many reasons related to the design of measuring instruments and others. Therefore, each device has an error – a characteristic that indicates how much the device readings differ from the actual value of the measured value. There are several types of errors, the most basic of which is the absolute error. It shows how much the readings measured by the device differ from the actual readings and is equal to:

A = Xd – Chi.

Where A is the relative error;

Xd – real value;

Chi is the value measured by the device.
