What duties did the peasants have to serve, what did they mean?

The peasants were forced to work out such duties: quitrent – was a regular payment in money or natural products in favor of their feudal lord; corvee – these are duties that were associated with the work that the peasant performed for his landowner. We can say that in a new period of history, the peasants became a dependent stratum of the population in the Russian state. So they were forbidden to change the land of their landowner throughout the year and only in a certain period of time they could move to another landowner.
