Luther’s theses were translated from Latin into German and quickly spread throughout Germany. In 1520, Luther published a special address in which criticized the basic tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.In 1521, Luther was summoned to the Reichstag for trial before the Emperor Charles V and was accused.Then Luther went into hiding in Saxony.
