What evolutionarily progressive traits do birds and mammals have?

Birds and mammals have a 4-chambered heart, which allows arterial and venous blood to not mix. This means that organs and tissues receive a sufficient amount of oxygen, which leads to warm-bloodedness. Maintaining a constant body temperature allows these animals to remain active at any time of the year (if they have enough food, otherwise they migrate like birds, or go into hibernation). Therefore, these groups of animals have settled all over the planet and have mastered all habitats.
