What exactly prevented England and France from being in the same grouping? Isn’t it profitable to become impoverished in one big state than to be apart

The rulers of England and France considered themselves to be full monarchs. England and France strove to play a leading role in world politics. Unification would lead to the abolition of any dynasty and the creation of a new dynasty. This option, in my opinion, did not suit anyone.

In addition, the interests of England and France often clashed with each other, further isolating these countries.

As history shows, an equal union of these countries was still possible, but only in the event of a common enemy or community of interests.
