What explains the different state of aggregation of substances?

The state of aggregation of a substance depends on the temperature, as well as the pressure that is exerted on it. All substances, in accordance with their physical characteristics, pass from one state to another, depending on the increase in temperature. In nature itself, there are three states of matter: gaseous, liquid and solid. And in nature, in all three states, only water is found, which is present in reservoirs in a liquid form, like ice in the cold areas of the planet and as water vapor (cloud, fog).
