What explains the success of English cloth making in the 15-16 centuries?

Due to the breeding of new breeds of sheep and the use of certain varieties of felted clay and dyes, cloth-making became one of the main industries in sixteenth-century England. Also, the development of industry and trade, and in particular the cloth making, was influenced by the factor that England, having got its own flotilla, refused the intermediary services of Venetian and Hanseatic merchants, and entrepreneurs refused the services of foreign banks.
