What features of adaptability to life in water does a lancelet have?

The lancelet is a small translucent fish-like animal with a primitive structure, however, having all the characteristics of a chordate. For convenient movement in water, the body of the lancelet has a fusiform shape, flattened from the sides and pointed at both ends. There is a longitudinal fold along the back – the dorsal fin. At one of the ends there is a tail fin in the shape of a spearhead, along the bottom there is a tail fin. Gill slits are present for breathing.
