What food does Chlamydomonas have?

Chlamydomonas can be fed by two types of nutrition – autotrophic and heterotrophic. When there is enough light, the alga absorbs solar energy during photosynthesis, leading to autotrophic nutrition.
When there is not enough light, the alga absorbs organic substances dissolved in water through the cell wall, switching to a heterotrophic method of nutrition.
