What forms of dependence did the Western countries use?

Western countries, and in particular European countries such as Great Britain, France, Germany, Holland, Spain, etc. used such forms of dependence on them as colonization. These powers were superior in power to the small countries of Asia and Africa, so they seized cities and villages, where they established their own rules and their own person in the governing of this country. The captured country became a vassal for the seized country, it supplied it with raw materials, cheap labor and produced goods for trade. This was one of the favorite forms of dependence on the “first echelon” countries. So they showed their superiority and became stronger economically and politically.
