What fungi exist in symbiosis with the root system of tall plants?

Very often, cap mushrooms enter into symbiosis with higher plants – trees. This mutually beneficial relationship is called mycorrhiza. In this case, the fungal hyphae tightly entwine the roots of the tree, attracting water and mineral salts to them. And the tree, in turn, gives the fungus the organic substances it needs, which it produces in the process of photosynthesis. Also, the mycelium secretes special substances similar to antibiotics, so trees that have entered into symbiosis with the fungus are practically not susceptible to disease.
