What furniture did the Greeks use? What was the lighting in the house?

The furniture was simple. The main place in the house was occupied by the box. The bed was a wooden frame on low legs, a mattress was placed on top. The tables were low and small. Benches with widely spaced legs, sometimes folding ones, were used. Bed linen and clothes were kept in wooden chests. The rooms were lit with oil lamps made of clay, bronze or silver.
