What gas is used in photosynthesis?

Photosynthesis is a complex biochemical process that provides a plant with an autotrophic type of nutrition. This means that the plant itself creates complex organic molecules, and does not absorb ready-made ones. During photosynthesis, glucose molecules are created. For this, the plant absorbs water and carbon dioxide. Six molecules of each substance are needed to synthesize one glucose molecule. Also, during the course of the reaction, oxygen atoms remain. They pair up and leave the cell as oxygen molecules.
