What goals did Alexander I pursue when deciding to start a Foreign campaign?

The main goal of the Foreign campaign of the Russian army was the defeat of Napoleon’s troops and the liberation of European states from French oppression. As we know, in the middle of 1812, Napoleon invaded the territory of the Russian Empire, despite the first successes, the French troops were still defeated. After that, the Russian army moved on to the Foreign campaign.
