What happened as a result of the Dutch revolution?

As a result of this revolution, the Netherlands were able to gain independence, and they also received occupied territories during the war years. The revolution itself became part of the Thirty Years War, which lasted until 1648. Ultimately, the war ended with the defeat of the Habsburgs. On the other hand, the influence of the Spanish Empire was weakened, thus, it is declining. This enabled the Netherlands to realize its goals.
