What happened during the reign of Emperor Justinian?

Justinian I or Justinian the Great (full name – Flavius Peter Savvaty Justinian) – Byzantine emperor from August 527 to 565.

During his reign, there were significant events:

1. The first world plague epidemic (beginning about 541).

2. Nika’s revolt (532) – the biggest revolt in the history of Byzantium and Constantinople, which arose due to the tax conflict, the ecclesiastical orientation of the emperor’s policy and the global oppression of citizens by the authorities. As a result, Constantinople was destroyed, more than 35 thousand people were killed.
