What has been done by Germany to strengthen its position on the world stage?

After the end of the Franco-Prussian war, a new state was formed on the map of Europe – the German Empire. Since this was the last quarter of the nineteenth century, this country had enough competitors – Great Britain, France, USA, Italy and so on. Therefore, the leadership took a number of measures so that the state would be on a par with them. First of all, the economy began to develop rapidly and after a short period of time German goods became the standard of quality. Bismarck, on the other hand, brought the state to a new level at the expense of his diplomatic talents. Attempts were also made to conquer new colonies.
