What ideas of the humanists formed the basis of the Renaissance?

The Renaissance lasted from the 14th century. until the beginning of the 17th century, when religious and dogmatic principles were changed to humanistic ones, and man was proclaimed the highest value. The legacy of antiquity was not copied, but viewed as a source of ideas. Enlighteners of the Renaissance – Michel Montaigne, Thomas More, Erasmus of Rotterdam defined not only the humane ideas of education, but also created new schools. They tried to put into practice the ideas of humanism: harmonious development, love and care for children, refusal of physical punishment, development of industriousness, universal equality.
