What image is obtained in a flat mirror – real or imaginary?

In a flat mirror – that is, an ordinary mirror – a virtual image of an object is obtained, but its dimensions are preserved. A flat mirror gives an image of the same size, at the same distance, but symmetrical. If the image in the mirror were real, we would, for example, wave our right hand in the mirror and see the movement of our left hand, because in relation to “you” in the mirror, it would be considered the right.
