What impact does Antarctica have on the nature of the Earth?

Antarctica is the highest ice continent discovered by the Russians, located in the south of our Earth. Its temperature regime ranges from -90 to -20. Today the place is important for its huge availability of hydrocarbons. Scientists are investigating how animals manage to survive, and what food chains, in this case, were formed. The search for minerals is quite difficult, but deposits of iron ore and coal, as well as precious metals, have already been discovered. Fishing is permitted on the mainland, but in reasonable quantities. The biggest advantage of Antarctica is the huge amount of fresh water, which is considered to be a good supply for our Earth.
