What is a policy in ancient Greece and what was included in it?

Polis is a city with its own form of political and economic organization of society. The policies included the entire urban area and nearby rural villages. Polises arose with the disappearance of the clan system, with the strengthening of trade, which accelerated the emergence of commodity – money relations. Gradually, handicrafts developed in agricultural policies. Ancient Greek city-states were not large and developed independently of each other. Power in the policies belonged to the kings who created an army not only to protect their lands, but also to seize foreign territories.
