What is a self-isolation policy?

A number of sovereign states chose a policy of isolation – a comprehensive cessation of ties with other powers. The governments of the countries that chose the policy of self-isolation set goals:
1. Protect the feudal order in the state.
2. Prevent the influence of European countries on the internal policy of their state.
3. Severe restrictions on foreign trade relations.
4. Ban on travel abroad and entry of foreigners into the country.
5. Censorship and taboos on foreign printed publications, film industry products.
6. An official declaration of the advantages of the policy of self-isolation over the European way of life.
