What is a stamen on a flower?

Stamens are modified microsporophylls that consist of a filament with an anther at the top.
The anther consists of a pair of pollen sacs that are connected by a binder.
The pollen sacs are split in two, where the pollen matures.
Pollen sacs are microsporangia in which spores form. Here, spores grow to form male gametophytes.
