What is called the distance between two given points?

In geometry, distance is the degree to which one object is removed from another.
If, by condition, two points are given with coordinates A (x₁; y₁) and B (x₂; y₂), then the distance between them can be calculated using the formula:
AB = √ ((x₁ – x₂) ² + (y₁ – y₂) ²).
If the condition is given in the form of a picture, then the distance between the points can be measured using a ruler.
Distance between objects is measured in millimeters (mm), centimeters (cm), decimeters (dm), meters (m) and kilometers (km).
