What is called the product of a number a by a natural number b that is not equal to 1?

Multiplication is smart addition. And we can add two or more numbers.

The product of a number a by a natural number b, where b> 1, is the number a ∙ b equal to the sum of b terms, each of which is equal to a; ab = a ∙ b = a + a + … + a (in the sum of b terms);

if b = 1, then a ∙ 1 = a;

if b = 0, then a ∙ 0 = 0.

Example: product 4 ∙ 5 = 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 4; the product of four and five is the sum of five terms, each of which is equal to four;

product 4 ∙ 1 = 4 (by definition); product 4 ∙ 0 = 0 (by definition).
