What is diffusion? What is it caused by?

Diffusion is the process of mutual penetration of molecules or atoms of one substance between molecules or atoms of another, leading to a spontaneous equalization of their concentrations throughout the occupied volume.
Diffusion is taught by the mutual pressure of two bodies against each other, as a result of which the molecules of one body mix me with the molecules of the other.
