What is humanism and what are its main ideas?

Humanism is called a worldview or a system of views in which the main value is the human personality. Similar thoughts were expressed in ancient times, but were developed by the thinkers of the Renaissance. The main ideas of the humanists are the equality of all people, the right of every person to freedom and a dignified life. Such views in many ways contradicted the feudal system, where people were slaves to God, and society had a strict hierarchy, in which some people had power over others.
