What is hypodynamia and how does physical activity affect human health?

Hypodynamia is a violation of the functions of the body (musculoskeletal system, blood circulation, respiration, digestion) while limiting motor activity, reducing the strength of muscle contraction. The prevalence of hypodynamia is increasing due to urbanization, automation and mechanization of labor, and an increase in the role of means of communication. Physical inactivity is a consequence of the release of a person from physical labor. The hypodynamia especially affects the cardiovascular system – the strength of heart contractions weakens, the ability to work decreases, the vascular tone decreases. The negative effect is also on the metabolism and energy, the blood supply to the tissues decreases. As a result of inadequate breakdown of fats, the blood becomes “oily” and flows more slowly through the vessels – the supply of nutrients and oxygen decreases. Obesity and atherosclerosis can be a consequence of hypodynamia.
