What is magnetic (other than metals)?

The simplest manifestations of magnetism have been known for a long time and are familiar to many of us. Any substance that enters the magnetic space is magnetized. Some substances are highly magnetized – metals, and some may not even be noticed that they are magnetized, this can only be measured with special instruments. If a substance is magnetized, capable of attracting other objects to itself, this means that it has itself become a source of the magnetic field. There are 3 classes of magnets – pheromagnets, paramagnets, diamagnets. So, in addition to metals, rocks can have magnetic properties, they are magnetized by the earth’s magnetic field.
