What is mass repression?

Mass repression is one of the most inhumane ways to restore order used by the Soviet leadership in the first half of the 20th century. This method was practiced by I. Stalin. The essence of the mass repressions was that not just individuals were persecuted, but representatives of any opposing views or nations. Before the war, many suspects of anti-state crimes were subjected to repression. Some were included in the repression lists due to the fault of ill-wishers who slandered them.
