What is matter from the point of view of physics?

Matter is one of four (time, matter, motion and space) fundamental concepts of the physical description of nature. Newtonian physics describes matter as a collection of objects that exist in space and time. At the same time, matter is a part of objective reality. According to the views of Leibniz and Einstein, matter itself determines the properties of space and time. Changes in time of various forms of matter constitute physical phenomena, and the description of its various properties is the task of physics.
