What is meant by ecological pyramids? What types of them are distinguished?

It is a way of graphically displaying the relationship of various trophic levels in an ecosystem. There can be three types:
1) the pyramid of numbers – reflects the number of organisms at each trophic level;
2) biomass pyramid – reflects the biomass of each trophic level;
3) energy pyramid – shows the amount of energy that has passed through each trophic level during a certain period of time.
