What is regeneration? What animals is it typical for?

Regeneration is the body’s ability to renew damaged tissues, and sometimes even whole lost organs, over time.

In every living organism, during its life, the processes of restoration and renewal take place. Mammals, for example, change their coat, the outer layer of the skin is constantly renewed in humans, and fresh leaves fall off and grow in trees every year.

And there are animals that are able to renew lost organs. It is common for amphibians, for example, to discard their tail if they are caught by a predator; over time, the tail recovers. Hydra is also an exceptional phenomenon of regeneration. If you cut it in half, then within a few days it will completely recreate the other half.
