Reproduction is the process by which new organisms are generated. This is the mechanism for the continuation of species. There are two ways of reproduction: asexual and sexual reproduction. Sexual reproduction involves two parents involved in the reproductive process and involves the fusion of male and female gametes. Sexual reproduction invariably leads to the formation of a diploid zygote. While in asexual reproduction, offspring is produced by one parent with or without the participation of gametogenesis. Asexual reproduction occurs in primitive organisms with a relatively simple body shape, they have a simple organization of body cells.
