What is Solon’s main reform?

There was such a truly great ruler in Athens and his name was Solon. For his wisdom and foresight, he was later even ranked among the “seven Greek sages”. He did a lot for the people he ruled, but there is one reform that can be called great – this is the removal of debt slavery from all Athenians. Up to a complete ban on driving people into debt. And even for those citizens of Attica who were outside the country, that is, they were sold for debts. Solon ordered to pay the debts at the state expense. Thus, he leveled all segments of the population with each other.
