What is the approximate length and width in kilometers of the Mediterranean Sea?

The Mediterranean Sea has a complex shape, and the question of its length and width cannot be called unambiguous.
I believe that the length should be measured from the Strait of Gibraltar (westernmost point) to the Turkish Iskanderun Gulf (easternmost point). It turns out 3700-3750 km.
What counts as the width of the Mediterranean can be debated. If you measure the distance from its northernmost to its southernmost points, that is, from the Italian resort of Villagio del Pescatore on the Adriatic Sea to the coast of Libya, it will be about 1800 km. But this, perhaps, is not quite wide, and the southern point should be shifted somewhere on the southern coast of Tunisia. Depending on what we end up with as the width, we get 1200-1800 km.
