What is the biological significance of the fact that some types of plastids can pass into others?

Plastids are membrane organelles that are mainly found only in plants. There are some exceptions. So in the cells of sea slugs, aphids or green euglena there are plastids. Plastids can perform different functions in the body. If some plastids are more than necessary, and others are less, then some plastids are transformed into others. This is very important for the life of a plant cell, since due to such metamorphoses, there is always a balance between organelles. It also depends on many environmental factors.
