What is the complication of psilophytes in comparison with algae?

Psilophytes appeared much later than multicellular algae in the course of evolution. They were dependent on water bodies, but some of them were on land. But the main thing that distinguished them from multicellular algae was the presence of tissues and organs. Some scientists believe that psilophytes did not “come out of the water”, but, on the contrary, returned to the aquatic environment. It is impossible to find out for sure, since psilophytes lived together with some other plants on land. But most of the evidence points to their progress, not regression.
