What is the connection between symbiosis and fungus root?

Symbiosis is a relationship between two organisms that is beneficial to both of them. Mycorrhiza, or fungus root, is a symbiosis of the plant root with the mycelium of the fungus.

In many fungi, hyphae are intertwined with the roots of higher plants (trees, ferns, flowers) or penetrate into them. Thanks to this, mushrooms receive carbohydrates and vitamins, plants – mineral salts and water. An example of such a symbiosis is forest mushrooms and forest trees. Aspen boletus grow among aspens, boletus boletus – among birches, mushrooms and boletus – in a coniferous forest.
