What is the continuity of Roman architecture?

The level of Roman culture was lower than that of the countries they conquered. Much, including in architecture, the Romans borrowed from the Etruscans, but most of all from the ancient Greeks. They got to know Greek culture very early in the Greek settlements in southern Italy as a result of the colonization of the Apennines. The Romans learned to build Greek columns from stone, simple arches, vaults, domes to overlap buildings, and they began to use lime mortar for fastening, enrichment required the construction of luxurious buildings.
