What is the difference between a berry and a drupe?

The berry contains many small seeds inside the juicy pulp. In the drupe, however, there is only one seed inside with a lignified inner layer of the pericarp – a bone. There are single-seeded berries (barberry) and numerous drupes (elderberry, water lily).
